rear engine mount problem

Hi

Ive finally got my engine into the bay and I couldn't get the rear mount to line up. I have the front and driver's side mount attached already. It seems I need to twist the engine a bit but I couldn't do it. I'm wondering if the part of the mount that's attached to the engine different between awd and fwd 1g cars. I got my new engine from a guy who had a fwd 1g (I have awd) Is there a sequence in attaching the motor mounts?

The front mount I typically do last as it has a little bit of slop built in for exactly this. I would remove the bolt from the front. Then to get the rear one lined up, it may help to loosen up the bolts that hold the piece mounted to the car a little bit so that you can wiggle it around to help get everything to fit together.

Once you have the rear connected, do the front (last). It may help to keep those bolts loose as well to allow for some wiggling to get things lined up.

As for if there is a difference between FWD and AWD, I do not know.

I had some trouble getting mine into place, try lifting up on the motor a little farther back, and check and see where the holes are lining up at. It just takes time and patience and need to try a couple different places, took me and my buddy 2 or 3 adjustments of the motor when we put mine in. But front is way easier and good idea me612.
