rear engine mount - please help

Ok so I purchased a tsi model that was being converted to fwd but when I purchased it I swapped back to the original awd tranny... everything lined up and the transmission mount worked great.. The other day I took of my 1g intake to install a dual runner cyclone intake and decided I would take out the rear mount since it was right there and I had previously purchased a oem mount online. When I got the mount out I noticed it was shorter and one of the bolt holes dont line up... I go online and it shows what I purchased is correct and yet I cant seem to find the exact mount that I pulled out... loosing my mind.

the closest I could come up with was on ebay there is a 1.8 rear mount that looked like mine but my engine is a 2.0 tsi.

Her are both of them side by side - old on the right and new on the left..

the new one has part # mb581322 on the rubber insert and R32 is stamped on the metal piece. ( if it helps)

The rear motor mount you took out appears to me to be from a 2g. I believe the 1g rear motor mount is the same for both 1.8 and 2.0 6 bolt engines.

Your 1st picture is of the front motor mount. I am referring to the picture with both rears next to one another.

There's more to motor mounts on 1Gs than just the engine. Drivetrain, for example, which extends further than FWD and AWD, dipping into auto and manual as well.

For FWD models -- including both 1.8L and 2.0L, and for 2.0L, both 6-bolt and 7-bolt -- there is a specific rear mount for the manual transmission and another for the automatic transmission. For AWD models, there is a specific rear mount for the manual transmission and a specific mount for the automatic transmission. In neither case for the AWD is the mount the same as the FWD.

MB581322 is the mount for an automatic FWD. OP, if you don't have an auto FWD, you have received the wrong mount.

Your 1st picture is of the front motor mount.

See this thread for the 1G AWD-style front mount: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/435363-1g-awd-front-roll-stop-urethane-vs-stock.html. The 1G FWD front engine mount looks similar to the 2G turbo front engine mount. As stated in that thread, the overall profile geometry of the brackets are completely different on 1Gs between FWD and AWD. The FWD has a flat mounting surface rather than that jut down for a secondary through-bolt on the AWD mount.

ok first off. ---- no the first pic is the one I pulled out of my 1g talon rear. In the sec pic - the left one is the new purchased one with model numbers and the right one is the same as the first pic..

so do you know what the part # for a rear mount manual awd 1g?
