Installing Avid Mounts...Problem with Rear Mount.

I am installing the Avid billet mounts and am having a problem with the rear mount. I got the stock mounts off and the bolts that came with the Avid set are M10x1.25 x 40 length.

Now, with the 40 length, the problem I am having is that the bolt hits part of the mount that is attached to the engine itself, so I can't get it to start threading in. I can get the two on the drivers side, but the single one on the passengers side won't go in. There is a "lip" type of thing on the mount portion connected to the engine and it doesn't allow the bolt to move enough to where it will start to seat properly and allow for it to be threaded.

Anyone else encounter this? I am thinking about taking my angle grinder to that lip and getting rid of it so I can get the bolts in...but I don't want to compromise the integrity of the mount. What do you think?

I've already seen the picture there, and that's not what I'm talking about.

There is the mount itself and then there is the bracket that connects to the engine and the bolt goes through that bracket and then through the middle of the mount.

On the bracket portion, there is a lip under the hole where the bolt goes through and it doesn't allow for this 40mm bolt to slide through the actual mount and thread into the subframe.

Should I try jacking the engine up more or something?

I worry that what I say might not be what your looking for, but these mounts are pretty stiff. If its your last bolt and all the others are tight then I can see your problem. Jacking the engine up might give you the play that you need, or loosening the other mounts so that the engine will wiggle enough to get the bolt in.
I had a tough time with the OEM rear mount. I can just imagine yours.

No, its not that....its the fact that I cant even bolt it down in the first place is what im saying. The lip on the bracket wont allow me to put the bolt through in order to bolt the actual mount to the subframe.

Jack the engine up a few inches.

Yup, jacking the engine up did the trick. The rear and drivers side mount were cake work. The front mount was a real bi***....tranny mount is pretty easy. They look great
