really slow spool,not normal HELP

I have the rs49t i recently installed the sbr tubular manifold with ex gate. Now if im not mistaking i thought this mod was suppose to help with turbo spool! but im not seein full boost till 5000 rpm also the pitch of my exhaust has changed it is more muffled compared to what it was not to long ago! now i havent checked for boost leaks yet but im hoping thats all it is! i checked the wg gasket it was fine,I was running an internal gate on this turbo but i went external when i got the manifold so i welded the flapper shut in order to run the wg, could it be that maybe the weld has come off just enough to open the flaaper enough to be causing the problem,also my boost is not adjusting like it should Ill put like 6 or 7 clicks on the bc (turbomart mbc) and it would raise the boost MAYBE 1psi but when i shift into third WOT it runs like 5psi more than it did in second,so its kinda hard to control the boost also!! so if anybody has any information on these two things it would help me out alot thanks in advance!!!!

only if the leak is pre-turbo.

well i did a pressure test and i had no leaks, it seems to be getting worse the gate is not opening till 5500 rpms the exhaust also sounds muffled! i have an exhaust leak where the turbo bolts up to the manifold, but i have had that since i installed the manifold but it spooled up fine then it just started out of nowhere

Are you shure you have no boost leaks? I had the same kind of problem testing from the turbo inlet, but then i tested from the throtle body and found a few that were not there from the turbo inlet pressure.
