Hi, this is a problem I have been having for a long time and I cant seem to get it fixed. A while ago my car started to throw cel 41 (injectors) after I had driven the car for about 20 minutes, stopped, and started it up again. So when I hadnt run it, it would be fine but if I parked it and came back say an hour later the car would run as if it was on 3 cylinders. So I replaced my injectors and everything was fine for about 4 months but now it has started again. I have went up with a stethoscope and all 4 injectors are clicking. I also just got a new fuel rail(my other one snapped) The only thing I can think of is the electrical clips that hook in to the injectors, they look really questionable. I dont really know what to do, any information would be great. Thanks a lot. :talon:

ps- my base idle set screw hisses air, my friend said this is normal...is it?

Cliff Notes- Car runs on 3 cylinders sometimes dont know what to do!

The BISS screw should definitely not leak air. You have a vacuum leak and probably a boost leak from the screw. The O rings are known to go out on the screw, just replace it and it'll go away, or cap off the screw so no air comes in or escapes around it.

No that is not normal. Sounds to me like you need a new o-ring. Hissing past the biss screw is a vacuum/boost leak. You need to address this problem. As for the injectors, I would check the metal clips and ensure they are secured tightly. Take a voltage meter and make sure you are getting current to all injectors. If all of this checks out when was the last time your fuel filter was changed? This could be dirt getting in and clogging the injectors. In this case change the fuel filter and clean the injectors.

The things you will need to clean your injectors are as follows
1) Cool-Whip Bowl ;)
2) 9 volt battery
3) 2 wires
4) Injector cleaner is best or fuel to put in the cool whip bowl

Take the 2 wires and make leads for the positive and negative on the injector. Place the injector into the Cool Whip bowl with fuel. Place the leads on the positive and negative on the 9 volt battery. The injector will then start to click. If it is dirty you will start to see dirt or black residue start to come out of the injector. Hope this helps :thumb:

Well the weird thing is that in the pictures I see the screw actuall looks like a screw. Mine is just a lump of rusted metal. Seriously I might take a picture so you know what Im talking about. But my idle is fine, would this make a big deal on the car if I capped it off? Im guessing this would fix my injector problem? :p I was kinda hoping to kill two birds with one stone.

Lump of rusted metal? Do you have a picture of you supposed BISS screw? You might need a new screw, o ring, and cap. No I don't see how a vacuum leak will throw an injector code.

Alright here are some pictures. I have always wanted to close up the hole but I didnt know if something would blow up in my face if I did. :shhh:

And yeah...my car is a little ghetto thanks to the last owner(got the car for 700) so my electrical clips just slip on my injectors(instead of pushing the two sides together + they dont have a metal clip on the bottom if you know what Im talking about) I really hope I dont have to clean my inejectors because its a PAIN getting the whole thing back into the car.

Heres the wire, sorry about the quality. If you look at the wire you can see the actual...wiring? The whole car is pretty shady :(

From the pictures that looks like a normal BISS screw. It just looks dirty. A BISS screw is plastic and dark brown in color. I think you just need a new o ring. As for the wires, sorry I can't make out too much from your pictures.

Alright, do you know where I good place to buy an o-ring is? And could the wires possibly be causing the problem. Im probably going to replace my fuel filter really soon, just because I always hear its good to do.

Why...yes...yes I do. ROFL I would check the wires with a meter like I said in my previous post. ;) Yes, if it hasn't been changed in awhile it would be a good idea.

Yeah forget my last post...it just makes me look stupider :notgood:

If I was to just cap off the screw would I still need an o-ring? If these wires turn out to be no bueno how would I fix this? Can I just cut off each one and splice it with one that I got from picknpull? Because all of the wires lead down into some dark abyss that Im afraid to mess with.

ROFL ROFL ROFL That's good. You're getting ahead of yourself my friend. I would test things first and then worry about the things that are actually wrong. :thumb:
