radiator drain plug thread size

I was changing the coolant so i drained it. I lost the plug. Does anyone know the thread size? I baught one from the parts store and it was m14 but that was wrong?

Since you would have gone back to the parts store, did you just try the next size up or down (which ever direction you needed to go)?

Hey, my apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I'd like a recommendation. My stock radiator drain plug (which is the plastic one) broke and I bought another one but I'm not sure if this will happen again. What I'd like to know is does anyone know of a good replacement brass version and thread size? The radiator, again, is stock and the plastic petcock has an O-ring on it. I went to O'Reilly's today but didn't get much help.
