The EVO is a much better car in terms of suspension and suspension design. It's not very easy to turn a 1g into a world class handler like the EVO can be (think VIII, IX). I bought my DSM because I couldn't afford an EVO. Of course I like it a lot but I'd like an EVO a lot more. As far as bang for the buck, you still can't beat a DSM. And I agree-the reliability issues come from people beating on their cars with no maintenance plans in place. Drive your car like a granny and you will be rewarded with really good mileage and most likely no mechanical issues! I don't blame anyone who gets out of the game on these though. I myself have spent so much money on my car and it has not come along very far. It is truly a project car.

! Fair enough!
bravo
BUT i look forward to buying another DSM in the future
dsmtuners = greatest site ever
It has 113k miles on it, but it was only $11k with 1 owner. It's tuned by Buschur and has 272 cams, intake, exhaust, Robispec springs, a kevlar timing belt, and a low mileage ACT clutch/flywheel! I couldn't be happier for as clean as it is.
I would love to see the car finished, but I think our project house may require too much of my cash to have a project car. Plus I doubt I would ever have the cash to build a garage, a DSM, and maintain an Evo. I'm sick of working on a concrete slab behind my mom's house with my engine/parts in her basement at 27 years old.
It's been a ton of fun guys and I don't want to be gone for good, but it is what it is. I can't say thanks enough for everything I've learned here. I'll make sure to stop back and post any interesting stuff I find elsewhere. At least I have a 4G63T AWD family car.
