Haha, I sold my DSM over a year ago, and I just came back to this site...in fact this is post number one...I guess it's karma. You are leaving (for now) as I return. Maybe when I'm ready to go, I'll look ya up and see if your around again haha.
 
i tried that before and i didnt even last a month. 3 weeks after i sold my old talon i was back here posting up pics of my new dsm. good luck
 
you'll be back - if no you will be replaced by 2 more just like you :D

why not make the jump to a EVO ? (warrenty)
 
wow I never thought this thread would go for this long. It was started back in what, 2004? wow how things have changed.

I now am driving a 2005 Dodge NEON Srt-4. Yup its just a neon, a neon on steriods. I love this car and my DSM days are over. No more having to worry if a mod is going to break something. No worries about crankwalk or transfer cases freezing up. I only have a couple mods on the SRT-4 and ran a 13.8 @ 105mph. I need to work on some traction issues (damn FWD), but the car hauls ass. :thumb:

well the car took its last and final dump on me and has now been replaced with and 03 Evo 8. So i just wanted to say good bye, for now at least . I plan on gutting my elipse and making a full out drag car over the coarse of the next 3 years. But for the time being i will be spending most of my time at evotuners.net but ill be back from time to time.
 
Its a sad day for me today. I sold my GSX today it was tough , but i really want a 600cc sportbike. I hope to own another one of these P.O.S's before my lifes over because i love em so much.
 
i came back, after having the boost bug and getting a 03 cobra but not being able to rid myself of the GT and not wanting two car payments+two insurance payments, i sold the cobra for some profit. just got a 90 GSX and hopefully it will run this week (previous owner skipped timing due to a crap timing belt job)
 
well, about 3 weeks ago I was on my way to school and as I was turning into the parking lot I hear a horrible noise... I though my exhaust dropped and was dragging on the ground. I pulled over, looked under the car and everything was intact, but it was still making some aweful noises. I shut her down and left it until class was done. Started it up later and made more knocking noise (from the bottom end) and then is just died. So, my guess is that I spun another rod bearing. Since I already spent most of my money on the six bolt swap and getting my turbo rebuilt, I decided that I must give it up for the time being. I didn't want to, but financial, it is the best thing I can do. So I got it towed it home and drained the oil to find a gold mine in my oil. I have yet to pull the pan, but I'm 90% sure its a bearing.... Anyhow, that day my mom gave me a ride to the local VW dealership and I picked up a brand new 2007 VW Rabbit. $17,600 tax and title. Parents helps with a down payment and I don't have to pay them back until I graduate and get job. I love the car, Ill post some pics later. But the main reason I bought it is because of one word... WARRANTY. Lol So as for now the talon is "for sale" but not posted anywhere. Im going to be very picky as to who I sell it too, becaues its still my baby.

I do plan to stick around here to help out and I'll probably... No, I WILL have another DSM one day. So if you guys don't see me around much, you'll know why.

The new rabbits look nice. I like it. Should serve as a good everyday driver.

If I could afford it, I wouldve purchased a new car as my daily. Unfortunately I couldn't, so I settled for another 95 GSX. DSMs are like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get..... (the good one with the caramel creme, or the nasty one with the coconut) reliable, or unreliable. But after owning a few, you just get that sense if it will hold up. Or just plain luck.

The way I see it, if something goes wrong with your DSM, fix it right all at once, not just a certain section, knowing the other part will probably break or something shortly after. Save time, money, labor, headaches. People complain it will cost too much, but it will be cheaper and perhaps more reliable when its all done right the first time around. Good luck!
 
Thanks man. Ill be around. Once a DSMer, always a DSMer... I've already been looking at mods for the rabbit... Nothing to severe as I don't want to void the warranty. looks like CIA, Exhaust, and some suspension for me. But I can't wait for the next DSM experience... Hopefully then I will have money for a solid build. Don't wanna hack the next one. Not saying I did anything wrong with this one, but I was battling with the previous owners poor maitenance. I learned a SHIT ton about cars with my DSM and no matter how much money I spend on it, I will never complain, as even though there were some rough times, I can still say I came out a smarter, more "aware" person, with a lot of respect for anyone who puts in the time, money, blood and dedidcation to a car, no matter what make, or model.
