Quick Question About Bent Valves

When putting the timing belt on and setting the timing, is it possible to bend the valves if the exhaust cam is turned? I tried last night to turn the exhaust cam so the timing marks would line up, and it snapped into another position and then i had to snap it back.

I didn't break nothing did I?

I have never heard of anyone bending a valve by hand. ever.
Most likely you felt the lobe of the cam going over the valve.

Just be careful. When it cams over, and you are on tdc, you do run the risk of damage. Slight perhaps, but it does exist.

Make sure you go through all the motions on the vfaq to get it right the first time. It won't give you a second chance.
