Quick question... 1g center diff fit in 2g?

i'm looking for the cheapest way to fix my center diff in my 98 gsx and so far that looks like buying someone elses out of their parted out tranny.. ive seen a few 1g center diffs.. but no 2g's recently..... so my question is, has anyone put a 1g center diff in their 2g AWD tranny?

nothing? someone has to know if the splines are the same or perhaps even better they have actually put a 1g center diff in their 2g with good results?!

not 100% on this but i dont think that they will. the transmission was redesigned in 95. it might work but i would call shep or tre and ask them. shep or jon will be able to answer your question

Maybe 92 to 94.But I would call Shep or TRE and ask.

yes they will fit fine. The only thing that changed in 95 wus the bell housing. The internals are identical.

they are not the same. i ran into this problem when rebuilding my tranny.i crashed my first gen then got A second gen and put a six bolt in. then i transfered my tranny internals in the 2nd gen bellhousing. everything fit fine except the spline counts dont match the axle and i belive the axles were to small. they would jus slide in and never lock. i wish u would have told me earlier had couple 2 g diffs laying around. sorry peace

Well I have alot of crap in my garage . Im pretty positive I through a 94 center diff in my 96 talon. Maybe im wrong.
