alright so i know this nail has been hit on the head quite a few times, i already pulled it out and split the case, i just wanted to know before i go drop it off to have it welded is there anything that needs to be aligned? ive herd people say yes and no. i was thinking it doesn't because there is 2 shafts it rides on and they both move freely, this is a auto btw

Send it to jacks transmissions, get a spool from TRE, or have IPT weld it. Do NOT have it welded outside of a fixture/jig. Just don't

*A manual diff is much easier but if you're AT there is absolutely no way around this. Must be welded in a jig.
