so i figure my center diff has failed to hold together.. rear wheel hops while going in tight corners, not so nice sound coming from trans area when making tight turns (occasionally).. lots of resistance while turning the wheel tight etc.... so i go to the dealership to see if i want to think about ordering the parts through them.. and i tell the guy i need to see a fiche for 98 gsx center diff.. and he pulls up a diagram of the trasnfer case.. and i tell him, no, i need to see the diagram for the diff that is inside the transmission casing.. and he tells me that there isnt a diff in there... ???? now what threw me for a loop is the vfaq on centerdiff replacement it shows pics for a 1g i believe so i wasnt 100 percent sure that the 2g's were the same.. so i started to argue with him for a second, but i was second guessing myself so i gave up.. now heres the question..
well for one.. is the center diff on the 1g the same as the 2g? as far as placement goes? (behind viscous coup. in trans)
I am like 99.999999 percent sure this guy is an idiot.. especially now that i get home and am thinking about it, i know i'm right.. but just to be sure.. haha am i?
also will a 1g center diff work in my 2g?

As far as if a 1g diff will work with 2g I have no idea.
