Quick! plugs look messed up???

I took off my valve cover because i have a lifter tick all of a sudden after
doing a 3rd gear pull? anyways i wanted to check my plugs and see this..
only one plug looks normal what caused this are they bad now? help quick
please

Hahaha holy crap.

Change the oil and run a magnet through your oil.

Cut your filter open and run the magnet over the filter too.

Wow man that sucks! All the ceramic insulator pieces went through your engine. I wouldn't use any of those spark plugs; you need to get a NEW set of NGK BPR6ES or BPR7ES plugs. They shouldn't cost you more than about $8 for a set, and then replace them every year minimum.

And by god man, whatever you do, don't put Champion plugs in your engine again.

OH em G! Those champion plugs man I so agree with you. Never again will i use those things.

what do you guys think of have heard of these? E3 diamondfires? come with a 5 year warranty and the guy at my auto parts store said if the ceramic brakes he will replace them free.

With the amount of information circulating on these forums as to WHY NGK plugs are needed, you'd think people would stop asking about how "X" brand will run in our engines or how "Y" electrode design will perfrom. Then again, I found my car had Bosch Platinums when I bought it...... Ran like a dream [/sarcasm] Seriously, a set of good old NGK coppers is like $10 at most for our car.

, you got lucky once, I think replacing the plugs will be the least of your worries if it happens again.

Just listen already and buy NGK. Plugs have such a minute impact on performance it's not even worth explaining. Three keywords- Marketing, Emissions, and long life.

You familiar with a shop "Road Race Engineering"? That shop goes waaaay far back with DSM's. You know what they will say? NGK.

Or sell it to someone who knows not to play with boost on stock fuel systems.

Actually those E3 plugs probably increase power, look at all that extra material, probably bumps the compression ratio up a few points

They increase detonation in forced induction cars. More hot metal hanging in the combustion chamber.

I just got some awesome business idea now.

1. Buy BPR6ES and 7's in bulk
2. Rub off all markings and print own brand on them.
3. Get flashy looking boxes to sell them in, put flashy terminology on the box, steal ideas from 'audiophile' marketing if your creativity isn't up to it
4. Market them as 'Stage 2' or 'Stage 3' upgrades for DSM's.
5. Sell them for $80 a set.

Gullibles get the impression that they are buying 20+ HP upgrades and can brag to their mates while still getting the right part in the end, and you reap in profits

Looks like that third plug is a racing plug(short ground strap) probably why the ceramic isn't destroyed yet on that one. If it wasn't for the horrible maintenance that would be one clean dsm.

thank you guys that gave me a calm legit answer. but for real #### half of you rude ass know it alls. quit being assholes for real. this is my first turbo car and second dsm. im not going to get everything right the first time. and fyi these plugs made my car run awesome. and all four were $20 out the door and the guy warrantied them for five years if they foul out break or anything. i appreciate whoever gave a nice input without being a jackass. everything is running smooth now
