Quick intake question

Hey guys I was just pulling out my intake to do a boost test leak and found this-

That hose wasn't connected to anything! Does it connect to something or should I just plug it. I imagine that is where most of my boost leak is coming from. Thanks in advance!

It looks like it might be the hose that goes to the left side of the valve cover. It goes from the left side of the valve cover to the intake. It's a small picture so it's kind of hard to tell.

Don't plug it. Honestly im not sure where it goes, ive never traced mine back to the source. Someone else will know thou. Also, the hose that Snobordin8 is talkin about is the blue one. Thats the one that goes to the valve cover, not the black one.

The on that was going to the crank case I put a mini filter thing on the crank case and plugged the blue hose that was going to it. Right now it doesn't connect to anything, so It seems like I should either find a place to put it or plug it. Right??

Blue hose= Valve cover breather hose

Long Ugly Thick Black Hose= Evap Emissions Canister. Located under the battery. It's a big black coffee-can looking thing. There's a way to remove it correctly if you do a search for engine bay cleanup procedures. There's a thread floating around for it; If I find it, I'll post a link to it later.

That mini filter you put on the valve cover is going to start leaking oil all over your engine bay soon. My advice is to put a Fram G2 or Purolator fuel filter in the middle of the line and keep everything nice and happy. It lets the air from the valve cover go into your intake and lets you see how much crud is getting trapped in the filter. Looks much like this installed:

Change it every oil change or whenever you feel it's dirty enough. At $3 a piece, it's a good way to keep everything hooked up and clean.

Note: This should be enough to remove the Evap system if you want to get rid of that long vacuum line on your intake, as well as a few other odds and ends in your engine bay. I should be doing this pretty soon, as soon as I move or something.
