Hay guys, im a newbe, and i dont know much about cars but i do know what i want to do with mine, I have a 96 Eagle talon esi and i want to put a turbo and n2o on it, ive been doing research and I have a few questions about things that I cant seem to find anywhere so if you could all bear with me, i found a motor with 98k on it and i plan on rebuilding the complete engion top and bottem i would like to stroke it out. howellautomotive.com has a master rebuild kit that offers 20, 30, and 40 over bore sizes, is it safe to stroke it to a 2.4 and if i do so will i need bigger main and rod berrings? also whats the deal with cam shafts why do they offer so many 4310010,4310012,4,6,8. and forged crank shafts whats better about them then non forged? I apologize if Ive asked any dumb questions here but they are all questions that I havent been able to answer from the archives.

i dont think they make a 2.4 stroker kit, the only way to get 2.4 is to do a 2.4 swap from one of the cloud cars i believe. when refferring to the cams, just use the last 2 numbers, the 10's i dunno much about. the 12's are a bit more aggressive with some overlap, 14's are for turbos and have the same aggressive intake cam as the 12's but a milder exaust cam to limit overlap, and the 16's are a bit more aggressive then the 12's, and the 18's are really aggressive for high compression engines.
 
To add what Chris said above: 16s would be the limit w/out having upgraded internals, with 16s i would recomend (with all cams i would, but 16s for sure) upgraded retainers & springs, lifters, followers.

He is right about that, you can buy a 2.2l stroked engine from howell (i beleive vt also sells it), the only way to get 2.4l is to do a 2.4l swap.

DO NOT TURBO & PUT NITROUS ON YOUR CAR WITHOUT UPGRADING INTERNALS, you would just be asking for trouble.

PS our stock crankshafts hold pretty well ;)
 
I plan to completly rebuild my motor top bottom the whole thing, im pretty sure im gonna go with the howell automotive master preformance rebuild kit http://www.howellautomotive.com/How...ct_info.php?cPath=142_38_174&products_id=1439 i think im gonna go with the #14 cams with 8.6 compuression pistions, a 20 over bore size... but my next question is the main and rod berrings do they need to be bigger or what they have a few options for those as well the have standard, 25mm, and 50 mm. I found a motor on e~bay for $400.00 with 98K on it, this will be the motor that i do this to
