Greetings dsm community!
Im new to the forum. (obviously)
I dont actually drive a dsm car. I own a 99 mustang v6.

My questions are regarding that.
See, I have scoured the internet looking for answers but I cant find what I need, and I was hoping you guys could help a fellow gear head out.

Heres my situation.
Im building a remote mounted turbocharger setup for my mustang.
Nothing huge, I just wanted to be the first on my mustang forum to build a remote mounted system. HP goals are ~270-~310 to the wheels on 5-7psi.

I originally tried to fit a single garrett 63mm turbo under the car, and yea that isnt gonna happen.
So, I realized that Im going to need to go with a pair of turbos in order to get turbos small enough to fit under the car.

I have a buddy who drives an eclipse, and he said the stock T-25 turbos are only like 4 inches wide (facing the compressor inlet) so they shouldnt hit the ground. Compared to the 9.5 inch width of the Garrett I was trying to use, I should have a lot easier time with t-25's.

So, my questions are...
Can you guys please tell me the dimensions of the turbo?
Is there anything specific I need to know when looking for some used t-25's? Different models or anything?

Or any other feedback is welcome.
Thanks guys -Tim

Turbo Comparison
They aren't worth paying much for. You can probably get two for less than $300.

Nope. If it's a T25 and off of a 95+ DSM, they're all the same.

LOL if you pay anymore than $100 for a pair of GOOD t25s you're a sucker.....

They're abundant and cheap and no one wants them.

For your goals they sound like a good choice, however boost/power is addicting and you may soon find their limit, in which case the 14bs would be a good choice. You should be able to get a good used 14b in the $50-70 range, T25s in the $30-40...

Maybe if they're trashed, I seriously doubt you'll get a good 14b for $50.

If they've been competently rebuilt or if they're a dealer replaced newer unit, the price goes up quite a bit too. Still not worth very much to anyone here.

I'd think a pair of 14bs with stock 060 exhaust housings would be perfect for this kind of project. With 1.9L to propel each side, spool should be similar to a single on a 2L DSM, which in my experience is 15psi at about 2700-3100rpm depending on intake and exhaust mods.

What kind of compression ratio does the 3.8L have, and will you be using stock internals?
What fuel will you be using?

I think with good tuning and possibly on E85, you could be into something serious here.

Stock compression ratio is 9.37:1 for 99-04 engines... Im 99% sure of that.
Very boost-friendly.
Stock internals. yes. The general limit on the engines is in the rods, and they tend to let go around 400whp. Thats why im planning on low boost.
Premium pump gas will be my fuel of choice.
