Hi guys I have a couple of questions, I'm not new to cars but new to forced induction and tuning. While my 6 bolt is being rebuilt I've been on look out for parts I'll also need.

First question. What is difference between t24, 14b small 16g or big 16g 18g 20g etc

Second. What 1st gen ecu is compatible for EPROM? Pulled one off. 89/90 laser turbo fwd manual, would that work on a 94 GSX?

3rd question. My turbine housing is cracked to shit, but went to junkyard and so were all the others? This normal? How do I prevent it?

Pics of ecu and turbo:

Oh and one more, at the junk yard laser it was modified, came across this under the glovebox, any idea what it's for?

Ill help you, but all of these questions are a search away and have been answered many time.

First, your turbo question: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-thread-graveyard/428669-14b-16g.html
14b vs t25 - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com (many more, just search)

Second, your ECU question: 90 ecu into a 91-94=hassles [Archive] - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com (sorry for not being tuners site)

Third, your o2 housing question. If that is a T25, junk it, (still usable). They aren't worth any maintenance IMO. A good used 14b/16g can be had for a good price. There isn't much you could have done to prevent it. Its just a matter of heating up and shrinking back over many cycles. Id port that WG hole, itwould help but not worth it on a T25.

First question. What is difference between t25, 14b small 16g or big 16g 18g 20g etc
Manufacturer on the T25, and compressor wheel size on the others.
Second. What 1st gen ecu is compatible for EPROM? Pulled one off. 89/90 laser turbo fwd manual, would that work on a 94 GSX?
It's indirectly compatible, meaning it will work but requires modification to your harness.
3rd question. My turbine housing is cracked to shit, but went to junkyard and so were all the others? This normal? How do I prevent it?
MHI turbine housings crack in as little as 5000 miles from heat cycles. As long as the cracks don't go the entire way through the housing where they leak externally, you're fine. The example in your photos is very, very minor.

The only turbo immune to these cracks would be the MHI Evo III 16G.

The picture of your ECU shows that it is not a EPROM, there would be an extra chip on it. That ECU will need converted/socketed if you want to use it. ECMTuning is a good source. They made some EPROM early model ECU's but I have never found one but they are around. mtc

Here is a picture of what mod is done to make it an EPROM for reference. This was a non-EPROM ECU in my '90 that now has DSMLink. Thought maybe a picture was worth a thousand words. A stock EPROM would have an extra chip in the red circled area so you can recognize one.

The ecu you posted pictures of is not an eprom ecu. Eprom refers to how it came from the factory. Now ecu tuning could probably make it an eprom ecu but I don't know your goals with the car. The eprom ecu will have a chip in the lower right had corner if your looking at it with the plugs facing up. The turbo difference can be found with Google searches. Difference ranges between manufacturer and flow rates and how much boost and hp can be achieved with each.
