My car is accelerating fine and reaches it's boost fine sometimes. Other times the boost would stay under 2k rpm for a bit and then rev quickly up to 3. That could be the turbo lag of a evol 16g, but when cruising i hear poping and other noises from my end. I can't tell because of the exhaust is loud. When cruising does the missfiring of a striaght pipe cause any hesitation or pulling back feeling?

popping might be running to rich and the gasses are detonating in your exhaust. You got any fuel management?

No fuel mods because i just got the car recently. It only happens when i am in 5 gear at 2k rpm and up. if i stay under 2 then it doesn't hesitate or pop or make any noise.

With mine i can hear some small noises, but only because i have a hole near the muffler's inlet i need to fix, and even then its only at higher rpms.

I too have a straight pipe. Mine did pop, or more like a backfire when I was venting my BOV. Since I switched to a 1st gen BOV it never does anymore.

I hear small popping from time to time but the usual poping is as loud as fircracker being lit up inside the car. Then it causes the car to hesitate and jerk. Do you guys feel the hesitation and jerking?

no that sounds like something alot more serious.

okay... i found the solution. There was a exhaust leak. A bolt on the exhaust manifold was loosening up. I tighten it up and solved the problem.

whats fuel mods do you have for that EVO running 18psi.

I have no fuel mods because i recently got the car. I am not running 18 psi all day. The highest i push the car daily is probably 5-8 psi.

5-8  i don't beleive that unless you mean you havn't hit full boost.

i don't think they would set a evo 3 16g to let the wastegate open at that low of pressure, if someone did i think the door would blow open because of not having enough pressure to hold itself shut

When i drive the car i don't go past 2k rpm unless on freeway but then the boost is not on....so yeah.
