I just finished a motor build about 2000 miles ago and I felt that I should check my timing belt to make sure everything still lines up and they do but what i noticed was when i put the timing cover back on my harmonic balancer did not line up with the letter T on the cover it was in the middle of T and 5degs

so my question is there a differences in a 1g and 2g timing cover I have a 2g with a new 6/7 bolt swap

Mine doesn't line up and I have a 6/7 engine. Though I have no idea if the timing cover is from the 6 or the 7 bolt. If you are trying to time it, I will clue you into a secret, use an adjustable timing light, and a paint stick/marker/white out pen to mark the notches on the cam gears, set adjustable timing light to desired advance/retard(8 is factory I believe) and adjust CAS till the cam gear notches line up when the light hits.
If you are just checking that your valve timing is still correct, just see if the cam gear notches match up and you should be ok.
