Well, im finally getting the motor put together, and i started cleaning up the metal timing belt shields that go behind the timing belt and noticed how beat up they are. I am wondering if anyone has had any problems by not putting these back on. Wether it is a protection problem or a pulley alignment problem. I have seen a lot of cars with exposed timing gears and what not, but never known if removing the guards causes any problems.
