I took my 98 GS-T to get a 4 wheel alignment today because I lowered it using tokico struts & sprint springs over the weekend. Anyway the guy at the shop says that the bolts on the rear are rusted into the bushings and the only way to loosen them is to break them off or cut them and replace them. But doing that will damage the bushing and the bushing will have to be replaced or he said that I could get new arms with the bushings already in them from a salvage yard. Is he pulling my leg or what? Is this a common problem with 2g's or did the last person that did an alignment screw something up? I need opinions.....Thanks

I am assuming your talking about the toe adjustment since 2G's don't have factory camber adjustment. Did you install a camber kit too? Anyhow back to the bushings. One of mine was frozen too but after spraying it with PB blast for about a week it freed itself up. You could try the same. Otherwise you may have to replace the bushing and/or control arms.

Yes I am talking about the toe adjustment. The shop said that they could use some longer bolts and washers to adjust the camber. I may try spraying the bolts down with PB blaster, it couldn't hurt. Which would be cheaper/ easier, replacing the bushings or getting the entire arm from the salvage yard?

Rear rusted bushings are common on 2G cars (I just did mine). Even getting new bushings or a control arm will still mean cutting the old ones off unless you can free them up. Remember to put anti-sieze on the new bolts.

I too would definitely recommend a good dose of PB Blast. It has worked wonders for me :thumb:
