Question about my new set-up

So i'm about to get my oem rebuilt 6-bolt and big 16g turbo dropped in. I was wondering if I would be able to run 20psi daily and have minimal issues. Will having just a chipped ecu for 680's and no safc be ok till i have enough cash to get one.

Here's the list of mods:

Motor
oem 6-bolt
arp head studs
mls head gasket
balance shaft removed

Fuel
680 injectors
255 walbro

Management/Tuning
ecu chipped for 680's


I plan on getting a wideband and sacf but don't have the funds at the moment. Will the car run good with out them?

You're going to want a logger when turning the boost up to steer away from knock. Also, at 20psi, I would consider getting a front mount intercooler to lower the intake temps for more efficiency and reducing the risk of knock.

Use the search button. I would say don't run boost that high until you have a proper tuning setup.

+1 for the logger, if you can keep the knock away then you'll be safe no problem, depending on who tuned the chip, was it Jeff from dsmchips.com? If so you'll be fine.But if you can't keep knock away then well........ BOOOOOM!

Not saying that it's good, but a lot of ppl have run years without one. But I agree that you should buy one once it's in the budget.

I already have a fmic. I will be getting a wideband and safcII in about a month. Just want to make sure i can run the car like this for a little. Ill probably have the boost at 15psi until i get a logger and safc.

Knock is what you want to avoid. Improper modding, intake temps too high, not running a good octane fuel, etc will all cause knock, which in turn causes detonation.
