Question about my AC light

I'm just wondering if this happens to anyone else but when i use my defrost (turning the knob to the Defrost setting) and actually turn the fan to any setting, the AC light on the AC button lights up. The AC button is not pushed in, it's not on. THe defrost does the job and everything and AC works fantastic. Now the regular heat function works fine. It's just the defrost setting. I was just curious if it's normal for hte AC light to come on when it's not being used. Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes, the AC is used to help remove the moisture from the inside of the car, and help defrost the inside.

when i had my 98gst i didnt do that but with my 97gst its just like yours. also been explained here:
