question about 'knock'

i realize no knock is the best way to go,but how bad is it to see 1-5 counts on a normal basis...i read that knock puts alot of stress on the motor,but how much are we talking about to really hurt the motor?

Where are you seeing the knock? Under cruise or acceleration (or both)? Is it in certain RPM ranges?

Low knock counts are normal and your ECU is programmed to tolerate certain levels of Knock (up to 3 counts on 1Gs) without affecting your ignition timing / performance.

i am just curious if its damaging to the motor to gets small counts here and there..like less than 3 counts.
