I have a set of Wiseco .020 pistons and a set of 1G Big Rods. The Wiseco piston set came with a set of clips that go into the pistons to hold the wrist pins in place.

My friend works for a machine shop. Infact he is the head person there, anyway he said I dont use those clips because the these rods are press fit.

He said he heats them up and presses in the wrist pins included with the Wiseco pistons and doesnt use the clips.

This true? Why would Wiseco include these clips if DSM style rods are press fitted? Why not use the clips too?

Umm.. Which is it? I can do either way, or I only use those clips on free floating rods?

So I assume whatca mean it those clips are NOT needed on 1G style rods?

Ok thanks.

Correct, 1G rods are press fit rods, now say you get Eagles or Carillos or something of the sort, they are almost all full floaters in whcih you'd use those locks.
