I am ready to remove the bolts on my cylinder head and pull it off. I have done every step in the book leading up to this point; all hose, wires, engine ground wire, timing belt and cover, valve cover, and so on.

I would like to use the fuel test jumper to run the pump and empty the gas tank in to a container. As I was about to do so, I realized this would require me replacing the ground cable to the battery. I wanted to check with you guys " before I did something stupid ".

Can this be done with out worry of electrical problems?

Thanks, Sean.

A hose fished into the gas can and sucking on the other end to start the flow will also empty the gas out of the tank... just make sure to stop sucking before the gas reaches the end of the hose. Takes about 10 seconds to do.

#1 The cars been sitting for 4 month. The gas thats in the tank now has some crap octane booster form the dollar store mixed in with it. I want to eliminate that as a problem for my no start.

#2 I have tried to put a hose in the tank before and its a pain in the ass if I remember. I think there's something in the way of the hose getting into the tank. Last time I needed to use the drain plug, witch it looks like I be doing again.

You can empty it through a bolt on the bottom of the gas tank, just make sure you ground the tank to whatever you're draining it too. There will still be a gallon left in the tank even after emptying it out as much as you can. There's a thread on here called removing fuel/gas tank relating to gas removal. Search for it.
