first off my pcv valve broke when i was taking it out(dont know how just did)i did get it out but my dilema(sp) is that the long part of it that goes inside of the plentum cover(sp) broke off and fell inside, now i havent driven the car since then but my father took it on his behafe(sp) to start the car and let it run while i was in the b-room to see if anything was wrong(yes i yelled at him for that it was stupied)now what things may happen if its left in and what type of procedure should i take to remove it also what my have happend when my father turned on the car

thank you i really need the help

if your woundering it happend to my 2ed gen

Take the throttle body off and reach in there with something and grab it. Hopefully it didn't go down a runner, past the intake valve (probably ####ing that up), into the cylinder where it will bounce around, taking out all the valves most likely and putting a big hole in your piston. That's worse case scenario tho. If it's not still in the intake mani, take the spark plugs out and see if you can see it in the cylinder.

Isn't the PVC valve in the valve cover like the rest of the 4G63's? I know 2g_spyderturbo said plentum cover but I think that was a mistake.

Steve
You know what, you're right. I was thinking it screwed into the intake mani, but it screws into the valve cover.

Ok, what you should do is take the valve cover off and see if you can see it. If not, drain your oil and hope it made it's way down the oil pan without damaging it. If it doesn't come out them, it could still be in the oil pan. I'd take the oil pan off next. If it's not there, it's stuck somewhere in between the head and the oil pan. Do not start it tho.

Also, are you sure it went into the head? I don't see how it's possible for it to fall in there since it's bigger than the hole it threads into.

There is a "stinger" on the end that threads into the cover. It would take some serious manhandling to break it off but it's possible.
It could still be in the baffle area of the cover and you might have to shake it out.

yea im positive it fell in because my father is the one who got it out and when i put a new one in it didnt feal like their was somthing their, but can you guys give me the part #s for all the gaskets for the valve cover and the oil pan

thank you

no i was planning on doing it after i have the parts so i have them right when its done
and i have to change the oil pan gasket any ways because its leaking a little bit

Umm, huh...are you thinking of the MDP?

Take the valve cover off, its probably chillin in the head somewhere near where it broke off (wouldn't it be stuck in the threads in the valve cover if it broke off?). Anyway, if it did fall in, it is hopefully caught in the bafles in the valve cover. All you would have to do is shake the valve cover and it would fall out. If it's in the head, grab a magnet on a stick and prod around.

On my junkyard escapades, I once found a large adjustable wrench chiling in a head when I removed the valve cover...

Go to auto zone ask for valve cover gasket like 12-15 bucks it will take a day or two unless they got them in stock (doubt it) and buy yourself some hight temp rtv silicone gasket maker its in a red tube 5 bucks maybe.
Remember torque that cover down right or youll be struck its happened to a few guys get a torque wrench. :talon:

get a GOOD torque wrench or just put them on snug. i cracked my valve cover because my torque wrench sucked and i ended up buying a new valve cover.

VC gaskets actually seal better without silicon IMO. You want the VC gasket, the cam plugs, and the four spark plug well gaskets.
