Ok my rear calipers are shot so I bought new ones and planned to put them on tomorrow and have never changed them out before. I had the drivers side off and the part that pivots on the caliper (spindle?) is reallllly tight... should it be? and how would I go about getting that off of the old caliper for use on the new one. Any tips would be great.

BTW its a 1992 Talon TSi AWD

Just did this. I couldn't get the caliper to come off of the bracket (that bolts to the hub) for my life. I ended up just replacing both the caliper and the bracket.

I couldn't get the ebrake line to come out of the bracket that attaches to the caliper either. This was pretty simple, I just unbolted the old bracket and attached it to the new caliper.

Make sure to check that your ebrake lines are not too tight and not too loose after you put on the new calipers. You can check this by lifting up the center console. Underneath where the cup holders are, there's a piece of carpet, lift that up and you can see the bolt for the ebrake lines.

But yea, I definatley couldn't get the brackets off. I recommend replacing both rear calipers and brackets.. I only replaced my driver side one because it was completely seized, but my passenger side one is starting to act up now. The lockpin doesn't want to turn at all, probably going to end up having to take everything apart again and replacing the caliper/bracket.

Any chance you know what they price around for the brackets?

any chance you know the technical term for that? Im on the phone with autozone and they say I cant get it at autopart store.
