1G Punctured gas tank

So yesterday i punctured my gas tank driving over big rock in middle of ohe street . So i wanted to ask if it would be possible to change gas tank for someone like me without any mechanical knowledge and what tools would i need? I keep thinking maybe its possible to weld it but it probably would catch on fire wouldnt it?
Update: the leak looks more like oil than gas. Its black, thick and doesnt easily wash off but it smells like gasoline still so its probably just really damn old. So it would be a good idea to take it off and clean it.

The fuel tank requires removal of the fuel pump hanger and return line. Getting the stock fuel line off without damaging it can be very difficult. Getting the tank out is very easy in comparison. Just several bolts. My suggestion is spray down the fuel line fitting with some wd and leave it over night. Your going to also need some line wrenches for the fuel line. As far as fixing the tank yes it can be fixed but id give miller imports a ring. Thats how i got my new tank.

Then id rinse out that tank good and cut out the bas section and weld in new material. I know the tank has internal baffeling so be careful if u start cutting .

I worked at a limo company as mechanic for over 10 years ran into a few leaking tanks in my time there. U could drain the tank and fill about 1/8 the way with water and weld from underneath to avoid pulling it out. Also u can go cheap and use this permatex stuff I’ve had to use it to fix a few tanks on the side of the road always worked great lasted for hundreds of thousands of miles also shockingly

Thanks for all the replies but i decided to try to replace it myself because i got replacement tank for couple bucks. Any advice on removing the tank besides spraying fuel lines with wd40?

As stated above use line wrenches AKA flare wrenches on the fuel lines, and you can have the tank welded, but all the old gas has to come out, and it has to be dry, Diy we typically plumb a cars tail pipe into the gas tank, to help dry/evaporate any gas thats in the tank, but if your not keen on welding it yourself, you could take the tank to a shop and have them repair it.
