Broken gas tank bolt

So I was changing my fuel pump to a walbro 255 when I noticed that one of the bolts out of the six was broke off. Is it safe to leave it like that for a little while? The car has a full tank of gas and it would be a pain to drain it I would rather just drive it and use what fuel is in there and then tap it out was what I was thinking of doing. Any Ideas? I dont want to blow myself up or catch the car on fire.

having one broken should be fine. on my tank 3 of mine broke and i lost a nut so i only have 2 holding it on, and they are right next to each other. if i try to put in a full tank of gas it usually sprays out the top of the tank.

I wouldn't sweat it. I have one of mine broken/missing and don't have any problems.

Ok so I might not even tap it out then. Do you think it will leak?

it shouldn't as long as the gasket is good yet. think of as it's ok to drive for a while with missing a lug out of 5, and this would be 1 out of 6, and it's not holding the plate down with a huge amount of force.

Ok cool saves me some time. I think im going to change the gasket too. It cant be that much money.
