I know this may have been answered many times by now but does anyone know the maximum (safe) horsepower to shoot for with pump gas?

You would not want to run the car without proper tuning. Especially if you put as much money in parts as it would take to hit that 500hp range.Sorry for my vagueness first, would you say it comes down more so to tuning after all parts are setup for their specific range of horsepower. So for example, if I have the whole car built and it has the parts to support, lets say 500 hp, would that all come down to tuning?
I would never run a car without proper tuning I was just asking in a theoretical sense. You would not want to run the car without proper tuning. Especially if you put as much money in parts as it would take to hit that 500hp range.
If you are making a build plan check these out first:
Alright thank you for the general estimateI am just going to guess, but 400 is what I say. Limited amount of timing advance with pump gas will limit the output of the motor. If you are after more HP, you should consider running Ethanol to reach your goal. A more complete "picture" of what you have and are trying to do it with is more helpful when we are just guessing.
Awesome I'll plan to keep an eye on your build I hope it turns out well. Also, thank you for your input.Depends on the area. Kapok6 trapped like 135mph on Pump Gas only with no water/meth. The pump gas around NW Florida seems to be like race gas, as I personally have witnessed the logs(as in on the laptop looking at it, right in the middle of a 3rd gear pull) on a 3076R on a DSM, running 25* of timing with zero knock. Car absolutely RIPPED too.
It all depends on the quality of your gas, and the quality of your tune. Would definitely research and be methodical on your tuning, and make sure timing doesn't just ramp to the moon suddenly. For pump gas, aim well ABOVE your HP goal. Example, if you're wanting 500whp on pump gas, you need to build for a solid 700+HP. I'm only aiming for 350-380hp on pump gas only with no water/meth, and my setup is good for 500-550awhp if I pushed it, just to give you an idea. You're gonna be severely handicapped. Turbo efficiency, intercooler quality, fuel quality, everything will come into play. So whatever you can do to offset or help out, do it.
