I’ve never had an issue filling up with fuel. I recently replaced the rusty filler neck and both hoses. Went to fill up and the pump kept stopping after a few seconds. I understand the pump stops using Venturi effect so I’m not sure what’s going on. Could the angle of the rubber 90* elbow be causing it to back up?

I mean yes it only fits in one way, but maybe it was 10* one way or another? It doesnt take a lot of splash back to trip those pumps off

Im confused as well. I’ll have to take a look when it’s low on gas

I would replace that valve first. Make sure it is orientated correctly and I’d just go off of the picture. I’d think the arrow would point towards the vent allowing the free air in the tank escape and if it doesn’t flow the air is probably trying to push past the neck when you are filling.

I’m going to pull that valve next time I fill it

Just picked up Wendy’s 4 for 4 and filled up. Before I started filling, I removed the vacuum line going into the check valve and no issues so I decided to put the vacuum line back on the check valve. The pump did not stop. Not sure if it was that pump I used last time or me cleaning the check valve. TBH I think it was the pump but who knows. All good now!!
