I am in the process of a motor swap, and I need to know what is the easiest way to pull the axles from the motor/tranny, but I plan to leave them on the hub. This is on a 2G Talon FWD.

What must I unbolt to allow the hub to move enough to give me space to pull the axles from the motor/tranny?

You need only remove the two bolts from each of the lower lateral control arms, not the ball joints. Separate the axles at the transmission and leave them in the wheel hubs.

Thank you so much. That is EXACTLY what I wanted.

Two bolts per side here I come, that block is coming out today!

Okay, I just looked at my Haynes manual and I see exactly what you mean.

Just to clarify, you mean the bolt connecting the arm to the strut, and where it connects closer the inside of the car, correct?

You said not the ball joint, and in the picture it looks like the bolt closest to the outside of the car connects to the compression lower arm and that's the ball joint, correct?

It would be a lot easier for me if the car was here, but I just want to be prepared when I go at it.
