Ok so I found out that my pcv valve was venting intake pressure into the crankcase but only after turning my boost up off of spring pressure. Before doing this I had some small oil drips here and there but now idling for about 10min will dump about a 1/4 of a quart all over my garage floor. So I am already in the process of pulling the motor to redo all seals/gaskets. I have a few questions and would like any feedback.

Currently planning on buying the Felpro engine gasket kit from Advanced Auto.

The motor will put up 150 psi on all four cylinders and from what I can tell it doesn't use any water. Should I replace the head gasket or just leave it alone since there does not seem to be any issues?

Whats the feedback on the Felpro gasket kit?

What other small things should I do to the motor while its out? Balance shaft, timing belt, ....

Things to checkout?

Well replace all seals leave hg alone if its not blown, if i doubt replace it felpro is a great gasket many use and even myself and never a problem over the 15 years of dsms. BSE of course, and all timing, wp, pulleys, tensioner the basics. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Tbelt-checklist-pre.

This is a great start what else are your concerns.

Felpro gaskets are good, there are quite a few others out there that are around half the price though. The evergreen kits from mizzumo are as good as felpro, and come with more gaskets. For the head gasket. If yours has a lot of miles on it than i would recommend replacing it while you have the engine out. Also for the oil pan, do not use the gasket that comes with the kit, it is meant to be sealed with a bead of grey rtv. Deleting the balance shafts is a good idea, but if you do make sure that you get the oem parts. The cheap kits sold everywhere are junk. The stubby shaft will ruin your oil pump. The oem one however will not. Make sure to either turn the front balance shaft bearings or install the bearing shells that don't have oil holes. You don't need to do anything to the rear shaft bearings because they get their oil from holes in the shaft, not the block.

Thanks for the feedback. I mentioned in another thread of my knock sensor going off constantly. So I was planning on checking the lifters, what else should I check that could be causing the knock sensor to go haywire?

FYI the only 4-stroke motor experience I have has all been past the short block point.

I would highly recommend placing one of these 3/8" Kynar® Standard Check Valves | U.S. Plastic Corp. in between the PCV and intake manifold.

Fel-Pro is a leading gasket maker and I've used many of their products on multiple vehicles without issues.

As for the HG, it's your call, if you feel it's 100% fine then leave it be. You are going to have the motor out and torn apart for everything else however so consider that much.

Check to see if the sensor is starting to leak and that it's torqued properly. Try to spot any metal-on-metal contact points that could vibrate, check your motor mounts as well.
