So I pulled off the transmission end case the other day to replace it. New one came in and everything was fine and dandy til I started her up. Now I have this rattle right by that end case. I'm gonna go pull it off now to see what I find but I imagine it's that brass ring that is held in by the wavy spring.

Does anyone know how that is supposed to go in? I should also ask how those 3 moving teeh go in as well (the keys). They are held in by a snap ring but they don't grab that brass synchro ring, right? I could use some guidance here so I can get it back on the road.

On a good note, I didn't drive it yet. It just idled.

Well I've got good news.

First is I pulled the end case off and everything looks fine. Just like it was when I put it together.
Second is that the shifting troubles I had with the end case on are now gone.

So my reinstall has to be the problem. What is the orientation of the wavy spring too?

I had to do this job twice due to me not putting in the *wave spring* correctly when assembling them back. The *wave spring* is located inside the cover on top spindle, when you look at it, there're 2 *pointy* thingy sticking out, make sure to have those inside the *cut out section* of the circular ring it rests on.

OK, a practice runs seemed to work. Time to let the Permatex dry and start her up.
