hey guys would like some input i have a 5857 pte and its flanged for a bolt on housing i got it before building the motor now i have wesico piston and manly turbo tuff rods and a built head my question is should i buy a t3/t4 hotside or just stick it out with the bolt on trying for 500whp thanks

Lol I told you before people have hit 500 wheel wit that turbo with a bolt on housing. You probly also would get better spool out of the dsm housing over a t3 but lack flow at uptop rpms.. Like I said you have it already and its good for your so called "goal", but if you planning to make 550 wheel or over i"d go t3..

If your goal is a strong 500whp, you may struggle to get there with a PTE bolt-on turbo. Their turbine housings are a little restrictive by design compared to those by other manufacturers such as FP and Bullseye Power.

The PTE housing has an off-centered volute, like the MHI 7cm turbine housing:

You will have no issues hitting 500whp with that turbo with the proper supporting mods. I have that same exact turbo except with a billet compressor wheel. I am finishing building my 6 bolt block 2G head setup and plan on making 525-545whp with my setup on pump gas with approx 30 psi of boost. I was doing 414whp with a stock 7 bolt block @28 psi and very very conservative timing. Again you must have the proper supporting mods however to reach the 500whp+ mark.

well im sure that pte will be ok turbo. but for a good spool and about 500-550 range what would be a good turbo jusmx141?

hx35 or hx40 for more then half the price
