I installed my new setup

pte bb 50 trim

dnp manifold/02 hosueing
38mm wg 1.0 bar

680cc

EBC greddy-e01

goes to 30psi set to 15 i am assuming the wg is not opening here are where my lines are set up as. the hole in the turbo for a boost source dejon forgot to send the plug so i stuck a stud in it temp and it fell out, maybe thats the reason

First pic is the top of the solenoid bottom to top of wg, right side to bov as in 3 rd pic,4th is that one i pointed to ,to bottom og wg

thanks

sure here some pic, everything is great car runs smooth just some small problems, any help would be great

enjoy

first you need try to disconnect the boost controller by connect the lower wastegate nipple (close to the flange) to the T in the BOV vacuum line ... and see if the boost is 1 bar, which suppose to be.

Well it appears that you have the connectors on the selinoid wrong. For an external WG you are supposed to have it set up on COM and I believe the NC side. Their is a NO and NC on the unit. NC= normally closed and NO= normally open FYI. It is supposed to be on opposing sides of the unit and not perpendiculer. If you where to take the top line off your WG I'm sure it would start to work the way it's set up but then it won't be as stable. Give that a try and see how it works. Also make sure you have your gain way down along with your duty cycle on the EBC to start off with a low boost setting.

Think Maglin is probably right on the ball. If you were running the ebc with an internal wg before you have to switch the connections on the solinoid. NC & COM is what you should be using with an external gate.

FYI. wastegates are not supposed to see vacuum, it shortens the life of the diaphram. That is why every single OEM turbo has a boost source right off the compressor housing or LICP.

So just take the top line off, doesnt make sense? what about the other end of the line, Is it becuase i have the hole in the turbo, the one for boost source, is that causeing it to go to 30psi

I highly discourage tapping into the BOV Vac line for a boost source. I tapped into a nipple right after my intercooler that way I know what boost I am getting to the intake mani. (in case of pressure drop in the IC) So tap you EBC into the IC pipes, and get the wastegate connected right, and you should be golden

Why aren't you using that big ass hole in your comp cover as your boost source.
Tapping into your BOV line is a thing of the past.
I bet if you disconnected your EBC, and put a hose barb in that big ass hole and connect that to your WG, you'd be boosting approximately 15psi.
If I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me.

ok what about the hole in turbo, just cap it off

I know you said that plug fell out, but did you actually run your engine with that big fuggin hole in the comp cover?
If so, then that is probably the largest boost leak I've ever seen.

I like using the nipple after the IC so I know exactly what boost is getting to the motor after (if any) pressure drop from my IC. Great Idea IMHO. But the comp cover should be an accurate boost sorce as well

I drilled and tapped my 18g comp cover and put a 1/8" npt hose barb for my boost source to my MBC. Then I tapped my boost gauge into the fpr line off of the intake manifold.

Your wastegate is not opening because of how you configured it.

If you bypassed the EBC entirely (you should do this to make sure your EBC is the problem, not something else) by doing what stormtrpr suggested, I'd also be willing to bet that you will get a consistent amount of boost. Of course this is dependant on the spring that is inside.

It also sounds like the 1/8" NPT with barb seems to be the best bet right now. If you're doing that, I believe the pilot hole is 11/32"

Like I said before, don't T into the bov (if thats how you have it connected) get your pressure source from the compressor cover, thats what that threaded hole is there for, just get a hose barb. As mentioned above what ports are you using on your ebc? There are 3 ports, you use the NO & COM if you are using an internal wg & the NC & com if you are using external. If you were running the ebc correctly before with an internal setup, it won't be configured properly for an external, check your ebc solinoid connections.

TSIMonsteR, when you say you are using a pressure tap after the ic, what for a boost controller? If so this isn't needed unless is an ebc with a boost readout. Your boost gauge should be tapped into the fpr solinoid so it see's what boost the manifold is actually seeing. This is why it doesn't matter where the bc is installed as far as seeing correct boost goes.

Edit: Forgot to mention did you say you ran the turbo with a plug in that hole? That isn't a good idea at all, not only is it a HUGE boost leak & will throw your tune WAY out, but with boost leaks the turbo has to overcome those leaks, to do this it works harder then normal. If your hitting 30 psi with that hole left open, you are actually working the turbo MUCH harder because of the huge boost leak & will really shorten its life.

I am starting to loose my patience, i changed the lines and now i hit 5 psi at 5k and it boggs. i dont know what to do? maybe when my lower ic pipe fell off the other day when i hit 30psi i didnt put it on all the way, but the clamp is on and i cant pull it with my hand, so who the hell knows...

Your not working the turbo harder more so then spinning it way past it's max RPM. I'm pretty sure it didn't see 30 PSI with that hugh hole, but I could be wrong. Dont disconnect the top line on your WGA. You could test it out by just hooking a straight boost source to the lower nipple and leave the top open. That will ensure that it works. Then try it with a boost source on the top and bottom nipple. It should hold boost better that way and not spike so much. Then you can put your EBC in the loop in-line with the lower hose on the WGA. I have the Profec B currently and it would be set at 0% to have it be non functional and it would be the same as if it was not in the loop. The Gain is raised to increase spool until you start to spike and they you lower it a few %. Then you can set the duty cycle to reach your desired boost. It's a bit of tweaking to get it perfect.

I did disconnect top line of wg, the hole in turbo is plugged now. yea it deff hit 30psi my boost gauge said it and so did my e-01, i have no clue why its bogging.

Exactly.

mitsuclipsegsx, you need to follow through with some of the suggestions here and stop doing your own thing, feels like everyone is just talking to the wall.

1. Relocate the pressure source from the BOV line to the compressor housing by installing a 1/8 npt to 1/8" fitting in the hole you just plugged up. LEAVE THE BOV LINE ALONE.

2. By pass the EBC and connect the new compressor cover fitting directly to bottom fitting on the WG.

3. Boost leak test.

4. Test run.
