This may be a really dumb question but is there a difference between the awd and fwd non abs proportioning valves? I pulled a awd one earlier today and my project requires a fwd one. However I may keep it for my talon if it won't work

I believe there is a difference but not sure if it matters. I have an awd and when I deleted the abs I got a prop valve from a fwd. Been on my car for 2 years with no issues.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll go ahead and use it unless someone else chimes in with detailed differences. It's being used on an 02 lancer that's receiving a rear disc upgrade

Whether the car is FWD or AWD does matter. What also matters is the year, model, and what brake options the car came with from the factory. Depending on these, the split point that determines the brake bias may be different. You'll need to know what car your spare prop valve came from, and then verify it's the same as your old valve. You can refer to this chart for reference:

Awesome that's exactly what I was looking for, now to figure out what the stock system is, and how a disc conversion will effect it. May just have to try a few different valves and test them on an empty street..... correct me if I'm wrong but the awd valve would be closer to a 50/50 split then the fwd? This may just work for me
