Proper intallation and function of strut tower bars [Merged 1-7]

Someone told me the best way to set them, is to jack the whole rear end of the car up, so it's not under pressure and in its normal, non 14 year old wore position, and then tighten the bar, and it makes a huge difference.

I have never heard of anyone doing it this way before yesterday, anyone do it/ done it like that? Did you notice an actual difference?

Never heard of that. If you have a stiff bar, and I mean rock stiff then its the non-movement of the suspension/chassis tie in points that helps the car maintain camber thru the turns and a direct steering response. I only lift the car when the holes don't line up between strut tower bar and the strut mounting studs. I do it both ways and never noticed a difference.
