I'm about to order a brand new OEM Set of headlights first. Then next pay I'll get the Mini D2S Kit....

The Bi Xenon High beam. Is it good enough for a complete high beam or is it better to use the Stock High?

That's something that is best left up to you. You can leave the halogen high beams connected and have both halogen and HID highs. The other option is you can disconnect the halogen highs and just use the HID highs.

From the pictures I've seen of the Mini D2S, the high beam is pretty good but your may want that bit of extra light from the halogens.

Personally the only thing the halogens highs do on my car now is operate as Day Time Running Lights.

wondering if u used the large or small size with what depth we are working with.

Personally the only thing the halogens highs do on my car now is operate as Day Time Running Lights.

That was kinda my idea... Plus I was kinda thinking of installing a 3000k 55w HID Setup inside the Halogen High.... For that race car kinda look, and for when I wanna punch it on the long highway stretches or dark backroads where I live.

Tons of people have already done retrofits to 2g's. Just search and you will receive!

Thats Awesome. Your car Canadian or you have a special setup you can tell me? I've tried making a couple lil DRL setups in the past.

It is Canadian, I'm in Canada after all.
However I will be wiring up my own DRLs and doing away with the factory ones.
I haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do with it yet.

No you don't .
The DRLs on my Talon are done so odd compared to what I'm use to. I had to wire a relay to get my Bi-Xenon solenoids to work correctly.

I'm pretty sure that's for the bi-xenon kit.. As far as I know they don't make any plug in play for SINGLE.

Looks like they sell smaller projectors now called G5's. Looked around for a bit for info on them and didn't find anything.

Does anyone know if OEM 1gb lenses can be used with a HID retrofit? Will the lines in the lens badly affect light output or pattern?

I know the clear lens would be ideal, but I cannot find them anywhere. See attached pics for what I am talking about.

Like I said you can but you'll have a jacked up beam. Kinda defeats the purpose of the retrofit. What you can do like I said also is to sand down the lens from the inside till smooth, then use Plastic polish and headlight restoration kit on it to make it clear. I wouldn't do this for the High beam tho cause you'll screw its beam pattern up. Just mask off everything but the low beam section.

And while you have the headlight apart you can black things out the way you see fit.

A little off topic, but I also have an '06 G35 coupe! I couldn't agree more, going back and forth it's like the Talon's lights aren't even on.

Iam looking to add in projector lens like in the picture for the 1gb. Iam just not sure where to start, like how to figure out what projector housing I need or will fit. Mainly iam doing this so I can add green angel eyes.

Green is a color frequently used by EMS to distinguish themselves on the road in an emergency. Any use of your green angel eyes while driving is likely to be illegal in your state.

As for your question, there's plenty of information already provided in this thread. I suggest you re-read it carefully. Any further questions are probably more easily addressed with a google search of the site. For instance google: "1gb projector retrofit dsmtuners".... It's likely to be ten times better than trying to search using the site's built in search feature. It can be very finicky.

I am a bit confused how this thread turned. At the beginning it was about a easy installation breeze HID conversion that was simple then it turned into a thread about actual retro fits which I dont have the time nor skill to accomplish.

After clicking on the 9006 it has two options for bulbs G3 large and G5 small. What one do I want?

Im guessing the DIGITAL ballast is better then the nightvision option?

Any updated info or pictures installed on a 2ga headlight?

Honestly, I speak from experience, the G3, G5 and Morimoto Mini projectors aren't that good when compared to the bigger projectors or even OEM projectors.

I'd take the time to learn how to do a proper retrofit and have much better results plus a safer car (not only for you but your not blinding other drivers with an HID kit).

I read your write up. Looks like I can use tsx s2000 ext. I also heard you can use Audi tt and a6? What would you recommend for a 1gb?

I totally understand blurred. I agree and If I had the skills I would no doubt do it.

But I have an ebay HID kit in stock housings and its the worse light out put Ive ever seen.

If I can get a somewhat of a good light out put I will spend 200 to do it. Anything is better then what I have. Looking for something simple.

Unless you take customers, in that case I can send the spare set of lights I have to you
