Its exactly what I was expecting.

That looks EXACTLY like the install for the kit I got from retrofit source

Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (H1) - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc

Heat the lamps in the oven, open them put the projector inside and screw on a nut from the back. Close them up and install them with the supplied wiring harness.

They have kits for 1gb housings?

this is the one that will fit the 1gb housing then?

I totally understand blurred. I agree and If I had the skills I would no doubt do it.

But I have an ebay HID kit in stock housings and its the worse light out put Ive ever seen.

If I can get a somewhat of a good light out put I will spend 200 to do it. Anything is better then what I have. Looking for something simple.

Unless you take customers, in that case I can send the spare set of lights I have to you :)

You might have to spend more then $200.
I can't comment on doing it for you on the open forums.

Your pics don't work in your link.

Should be working again now.

Buy the TRS Morimoto Mini H1 kit, select what your factory bulbs are and you will need to bake your lights open.
Since you have a 1Gb you will need clear lenses as the factory ones are fluted.

You can buy an entire projector headlight set now for between $180 and $350 depending on what style and brand you want.

Enjoy purchasing cheap plastic junk.. :toobad:

You decided that was the best thing you could add to the conversation? No alternative, nothing on what's different now from three years ago when this topic started, nothing about why you think it's cheap and junky, just 'enjoy purchasing cheap plastic junk'?

I'd be more apt to listen to you if you didn't come off as someone who just felt like lashing out at someone else anonymously.

He's right, they are junk.
Most of those aftermarket headlights all use the same projector and the performance is sub-par (our OEM headlights are better). Plus the projector is not designed for an HID capsule. HID capsules and halogen bulbs cast their light differently thus their reflectors or projectors they are housed in have this in mind.

If you don't want to do a full on retrofit then the Mini series of projector is the best bang for your buck. However, OEM projectors will perform much better and I think they are worth the effort to retrofit.

I speak from experience and knowledge on all of this; I'm an Electrician with a big interest in lighting systems.

There is nothing different from 3 years ago except we all still know those headlights you linked are straight trash, still.. Why I know it's junk, it's not oem quality because its all plastic.

No lashing out, just stating facts..

Thank you, that helps quite a bit. I figured that over the years someone would have made a better unit to eliminate the need for retrofitting, but apparently not. I'll probably get the H1 Stage III setup myself since I have a 99GS that I'm working on.

Thanks for taking the time to break it down by the way, I read your thread on how to do the retrofit and I liked the idea of using a wooden rig to verify the angle of the lights before hand. I had been wondering about a proper way to get the right angle so I wouldn't be one of the guys I hate with their lights blinding me from half a mile away.
