Hey all! First I am sure this has been done but I am doing it again. Also for the haters out there, please please don't waste forum space by posting things like "your car will blow up" etc. With that said I am going to build a car using ONLY eBay parts.

I have a 91 eclipse 2.0l non turbo automatic: I am going to use as much ebay stuff as possible to test and see if it really is crap or not. I am swapping the car to turbo. I currently have purchased from ebay a complete gasket rebuild kit, timing belt, water pump, AFPR, 50 trim, t3/t4 tubular manifold, 35mm external wastegate. I am going to purchase a ebay 255lph fuel pump and a FMIC. The things I can make I will, like IC piping and exhaust etc.. The things that can not come from ebay I will have to purchase elsewhere, like injectors etc... I will take photos of the items and car and progress and post up as it goes along. I will be rebuilding the motor soon and putting in stock 1g turbo pistons and at the time converting it to a turbo. If anyone would like to see a ebay "item" installed and checked out just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Also MODS if this isn't in the correct section please move it. Thanks all and I'll get up some photos as soon as I can.

Would you guys consider me using arp head studs cheating? I have a set lying around. Wasnt sure if it would be cheating since this is supposed to be a eBay china build only.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you were using stock bottom end internals, so you're already kind of cheating? , This is a long thread I and can't remember for sure, but its definately interesting either way. I say if you are using ebay bottom end internals for the build then arp's are cheating, might as well find some ebay studs since you're already using the ebay head gasket.

Well I don't really consider using stock stuff cheating, I mean it's stock. Right? If that were the case then I'd have to get a "eBay long block". They don't exist I don't think. Plus thr idea was to push it to 400ish hp before upgrading rods and pistons. To eBay ones that is. Idk, what do you guys think about the stock stuff? I know they make stock china rods and pistons but idk.

Oh and the only head studs on eBay I found were arp or map sooo not really a "eBay" one available.

Use the arp studs. I though the purpose if this was to build a reliable car using inexpensive parts. So I'd use the arp's.

Haha! Use the arp's then, since there aren't any ebay knock offs available. But as for myself, I'd love to see how the ebay bottom end stock replacements hold up, especially with the rest of the build plan. It's your call though and I'm not gonna flame ya no matter what you end up doing. I think this is a great project!

Yes and no. I am waiting on my afc and arm wideband. I am also about to start the work on my head. Going to just do a polish job only and lap in the valves etc. I was also kinda waiting on my house to sale because I actually did want to run 2g 8.5:1 pistons (being it's an auto) so I was going to order some eBay pistons since there's also an interest in the bottom end stuff also. Unless it takes forever then I'll just use the stock 1g's I have. I was also looking at using a underdrive pulley kit but wasn't sure if I should because this car is keeping ac, ps & all that stuff. What do you guys think? So between selling my house, rebuilding my moms car AND we're expecting our 3rd I'm a little stretched thin. I promise I'll do my best to get this finished asap. I wanna know just as bad as you guys.

Also on the pulley kit. I didn't see any "1g" kits only 2g's and I know the crank pulley will work but what about the alternator and ps pump? Does/can the 2g ones fit the 1g's? I'll search the forums but just thought I'd ask to see if anyone knew before I found out for sure. Thanks all, Keith.

The one I bought was crap. I returned the first and the second was not any better. WAY TOO MUCH play. I had to modify it, I had to make some shims to tighten it up. I swapped my original back in after about 6 months.

That was a 2g kit though....maybe 1g is diff

Ok everyone, sorry for the LONG delay but I must finally report on this story.... I was suddenly recalled for only "a few" special missions that turned out to be many. So I didn't have much/any contact with this side of the world. After being killed over there, yes I said killed, I came back and didn't have much desire to do car stuff so I ended up selling my 4g63 swapped ebay summit and my eclipse DD. I HAVE gotten my love for dsm's back and as soon as I get another I PROMISE I'll do a ebay only build and report as I go. Sorry for not getting it done for you guys.

Youre typing so i guess they got ya beatin quick. Damn bro please elaborate. A few of my bros from HS came back from Iraq..... changed guys, permanently.

Screw dsms. Life really bcomes precious when you let the reaper touch you. Wife, kids, parents.... dsms can wait til your 100% physically and most importantly mentally. God speed brother. dam old post with no updates ????

My old xs power 16g lasted over 30,000 miles and only blew because i put a BC on upside down and ran 28 psi ....aka blew the seals

Now i have a GODSPEED TD05H 20G running on 15 psi STRONG and im already over 3,000 miles with no problems ...Its all about the install

I've had my Godspeed 20g on for 3300 miles as well with no major problems. Came preloaded perfectly, boosts nice and smooth, and the wastegate seems to work good. So far so good.

Just to throw this out there a new walbro 255 on eBay $100. That being said I'm looking foward to seeing this build. EBay gets a bad Rep alot and I personally shop eBay all the time so I think this is awesome. Good luck man. Props to you

Um...i'm still tripping on the being killed part.

But really, i think almost all my builds have been ebay builds. or at least 70% ebay. You can find some good ish on there.
