Heya guys, I started gutting the whole car for a total restoration. I couldn't find any good bodies without ROT on them, so I came to the conclusion that I was going to make the best of what I've got, and it doesn't seem to be a bad choice, because I've got some decent surface rust as you'll see, but it can be slowed if not stopped.

Now before you guys tell me that it's just a waste of time, waste of money, etc, don't bother:nono:.

Restoration Checklist:
Minimal rust under the car
Newer suspension, coated
Energy Suspension bushings
Strip anything rusty, coat, or get new
New AN teflon fuel lines
New factory pressed brake lines
SS Braided Brake Lines
Undercoat w/ chip and salt resistance
New wheel bearings
New brakes all around
Dejon or Thermal 3" Turbo-back no cat (Anyone have any 1g awd Thermal sound clips?)
NEW paint, same OEM colors
Rear end, Driveshaft, Axels coated
New weatherstripping all around
New fuel tank, coated (So my 93 doesnt evaporate or slosh out of the tank, and I'll finally be able to get more than a 1/2 a tank)

Engine Goals:
Freshen up the exterior of the engine a bit
New turbo SS feed line, and return
New Oil pan (SBR designed)
Remove B-Shafts (Until they come out with Kevlar belts)
New knock sensor (Tired of the 24 counts of "knock" on the datalogger, sensor leaking black fluid)
New dual oil pressure sending unit

Interior Goals:
Getting the original power antenna fixed
New interior, going all black :D
New headliner (Tired of the headliner always brushing my hair for me)
Getting either a new clutch pedal assembly, or welding rod
New gauges, most likely ProSport (Oil temp, Oil Pressuire, Mech Boost, Voltmeter, Fuel Pressure, Shift Light, EGT)

I probably cannot think of all the things off the top of my head right now, but I only want to do most of this stuff once, so I'm going to do things while I have other things removed, catch my drift? :)

Well by now, you're probably like, show me pictures dammit! I agree, but they're not pretty....

I've found the secret weapon for most of the rust. A grinder with a sand disk on it. Then whatever nooks and crannies I cannot get with the grinder, Ill bust out the sandblaster and tidy that up real quick. Its raining here for the next couple days, so if I get a chance on sunday and it isn't raining, then I will be outside.

Ah boy this is hard work. I'm not going to be anal about getting the metal clean-clean anymore, it's impeding on the progress big time. Just going to take off most of it, get it decent, and then POR15 over it. I ordered all my parts last night, with just a couple more to purchase.

Heya guys,
Updating... I havent posted pictures like I promised I would, but that will change tomorrow. My buddy came over and we plowed out alot of the rust, with more still to go, but the way we're progressing, I think we may have paint on the bottom of the car tomorrow. I am going to take pictures tomorrow.:thumb:

I received a bunch of parts, I ordered about 1000 of parts within the past week, so this car is gonna be pretty solid. I did find rot, and its in one location on the passenger rear wheel well on the front of it. Kind of disappointing, but its behind the sideskirt, so I'm not as worried, but Ill take care of that. I will update again after tomorrow's quest, so stay tuned for pictures! :dsm:

Huge update, jesus, this is taking forever!

I officially painted half the underbody! The other half doesn't need paid because of the rubberized undercoating on it, but Ive got a few spots to touch up. Gotta do a little painting in the engine bay, and then throw a second coat under the car, and I'm done with body painting. Then off to the suspension. I haven't given up yet!:thumb: :talon:

*roll* Pictures please! :D

Those last three pics are of wet paint. But its painted! The next objective is to paint the seam where the rollpans and the floor pan meet on both side going all the way up to the front, and the wheel wells. Going to be painting the inside of that back panel at the same time so we can weld it up and seal it.

The ball is rolling now, and I've surprisingly got alot of time for going to college and working, so this is going to wrap up real quick. Ill bring more pictures as I progress.

Cleaned the engine bay for the past two days. Sunday I'm going to primer the bad sections, and paint the rest. I never knew the car actually looked this good under all that dirt and grease. :thumb:

Next update....

Painted the engine bay, looks beautiful.

Next Section:
1. Finish painting front suspension
2. Take care of rust spots in the wheel wells
3. Weld rear sheet on the rear of the car
4. Increase the gauge of the wire inside the fuel pump assembly
5. Paint the Gas Tank and Gas tank neck
6. Install new studs on the fuel tank to keep the fuel pump assembly down
7. Throw a second coat of paint underneath the fuel tank and above the fuel tank to ensure protection
8. Install fuel tank and run lines to and from.

Will continue....:thumb:

Now for the recent pics!:rocks:

Alright, a small update.

Painted passenger front wheel well.
Removed balance shafts and turned the new bearings.
Front case cleaned and back on the engine.

Picking the engine hoist up today and going to prep the engine and engine bay for the engine drop in. Hopefully that goes down tomorrow. Today I'm going to paint the rest of the front suspension and hopefully get to painting the front bumper. Id like to have the car running by this weekend, and Ill have a video to go along with it. Middle of next week I want to have the front end back together, fenders, hood, bumper, covers, lights, etc. It needs to look like a car again. Ah boy, its finally coming to a close.

Pictures...
