About 3 months ago the batteries in my keyless entry fob died and I finally got around to buying a new set. After replacing them, the fob no longer unlocked my car so I figured I needed to reprogram the rf box. I followed the guide on programyourremote.com but the system is refusing to enter "program mode." I put the key in the ignition, put the wire in the data port, close the door, and turn the key to ACC then off. This should cause the power locks to flip but nothing is happening. I have used several different kinds of wire to connect the two terminals but nothing seems to work. Just to make sure I'm getting the right terminals I uploaded a pic with the wire in the 1st and 4th terminals. Any advice would be appreciated.

1. Locate the Data Port.

2. Insert keys in ignition and leave in the OFF position.

3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Port with a suitable jumper wire, leave jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure. Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.

4. Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, turn the ignition switch to the ACC position and then back to OFF. Note: The doors will automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that the system is in the programming mode.

5. Press the LOCK button on the transmitter to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the door will lock and unlock once.

6. If there are two remotes, register the first, then register the second. Repeat step 5 within one minute to program second remote. After completing the second programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.

7. Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the ignition.
Hope this helps out, looks easy enough.

It looks like you have the right pins. Also check all fuses maybe one blew and is preventing your reprogram!

I got mine from the dealer like 3 years ago for $43 to my door! Has been working perfect ever since! But I've seen that the price has gone up abit on them, so another source might be better. Mine is model# GQ43VT6T and made by trw, if anyone was interested to know!

I have a 3G remote has anyone used one? My car goes into programming mode(locks cycle) but after pressing the buttons 3 times I get nothing! New battery also...

Glad to see nobody came here to post ACTUAL advice for the OP. I am having the same exact issue as the OP when it comes to the programming part. I insert a jumper wire into the #1 & #4 pins on the DLC. After turning the key to ACC and back to off, nothing happens. This is driving me absolutely crazy. Everywhere I search, it's either people reiterating the step by step process in which I've already read 100s of times, or people screaming "search! Search!!!" Kind of a catch 22 when every post I that comes up when someone searches, is a bunch of people telling them to search, or responding by telling the OP to do EXACTLY what they are saying they are having issues with. So can ANYONE give some real advice here? I've tried everything. Jumper wire with doors locked, unlocked, door open, then closed... every permutation of the steps to programming. What is happening?

You sure you have the correct pins? Your looking at the obd2 port and diagram correctly? All your fuses are in place and good? Wiring? Are all the door switchs good? and have you checked the remote lock switchs on the back of the key tumblers to make sure they work properly?

are you sure you have the metal contact in pin #1? Double check your fuses as suggested above if you do have the metal contacts in pin 1 and 4 try process of elimination on door switches, lockes, and wire is good but can get bent when pushing it in the pins either solder the ends to keep them solid or use a paper clip,
