problems with new evo3 16g.

Ok, I installed an evo3 16g that i got from slowboy, and i installed it (with some minor problems of course.) I did a boost leak test and there was a leak where my MBC was tapped in, but that was all and i fixed it. The thing is this, the car wont boost right. At about 4000 rpms itt slowly begins to build boost up till about 5 and then im usally at/near the redline. Can you guys give me some things to check?! i have had my car down for like 3 weeks + and really want to get it workin again. Thanks for the help.

sounds like your wastegate is stuck open. check and make sure its not stuck and check the actuator as well.

Make sure you have no exhaust leaks and that everything is torqued to spec! Is your MBC hooked up right?

it starts to build up boost and your not mashing o nthe gas or anything like that? It could be boost creep, i know its a common problem with the E316G. Not sure though.

hes only starting to build boost at 4k and getting up to 5 psi by redline.. i hardly call that boost creep.. im telling you its probably the wastegate.. its not closing so your turbo is unable to build boost. check the flapper, check the wastegate actuator.. the problem is in there. It should stay closed until the MBC lets it open up .. which would be at the set boost level. It should boost at a minimum of about 9psi and thats with no control on it at all. You should be seeing full boost on that thing at like 3500.

yea well how do i check to see if the wastegate is acuating corretly? SHouldnt it work ok being brand new? Im not sure "how" to check the flapper if you understand.

If i tap a line from the wastegate to my boost controlers vacume source would it be safe to see if the MBC is the problem? MRoadster told me to do this last night but it makes me nervous.

Do you have any more mods then what are listed in you're profile? You might be right and have a problem with the turbo itself, But you should definatly have the supporting mods for the turbo, for it to work at it's full potential!

Yea i know. Im going to be doing the mods. I didnt orgianlly plan on upgrading the turbo so soon, but my 14b died on me so i figured i should do the turbo right the first time
