Problems Mounting Egt to Manifold

Ok, I have a Autometer Egt Guage, so far I have a 9/16 hole drilled for the bolt to sit in, well in the directions it says to weld the bolt on which is a pain since our amnifolds are cast iron. So I went out and bought some manifold putty thats used fro sealing cracks. I covered the bolt with this stuff and yet when I floor it the stuff will just come undone;. So iwaswondering what my options are now on getting this thing on here. And what you 've done to get this to work.

bolt ?
you either weld a BUNG or drill/tap the mani as per vfaq directions.
btw - welding cast iron isnt that much of a pain when its just to seal up around a EGT bung.
( if ya gota tig welder handy )
