Hi I am new to the dsm scene and normaly mess with 240's i still have two i traded for a 93 eagle talon awd tsi and when i first got it it would start but run like crap. did not want to idle and had no power and the safc would not come on. then i put a new battery in it from a different car and everything worked great and it was really really quick. then as time passed on sometimes it would run great and some times it went back to what it was originally doing with no ryme or reason. then it got worse the computer would not come on at all and always run like crap and sometimes would not run at all. now it always runs but when you touch the trottle at all even just barley it revs past were it should then dies even when you hold it. this is really driving me crazy cause every time i go to work on it it startes doing somehing different.:banghead: and now i dont know where to even start. any help would be great.
also it has eagle rods wiesco pistons crane stage two cams after market intercooler full exhaust apexi safc and a 94 dodge stealth maf.

Sounds electrical. Unfortunally you're going to have to chase wires. I'd start with the SAFC wiring; look to see how it was wired in and look for anything being exposed. Heck, the unit itself might be going bad if you said it works once in a while.

Maybe look into taking it off altogether and see if it will run on the stock ecu? Of course with the mods, it will probably run like crap on the stock map; but it could help in ruling out the SAFC as the problem.

Also, I'd try to find a dsm MAF. Not sure what the difference is between the stealth and dsm one, but I really haven't heard of too many people using the one of the 3s cars...

Have you paid attention to what the weather was like the days it acts up? If its rainy days, then you're more than likely looking at a broken wire that gets moisture in it and once its dry it's ok.

Look at the ecu, seriously rip that thing out and look at the board reallly realllly closely!. I had the same problem. See if if it smells fishy or electical burn smell when you sniff. Look at the capacitors, drivers and is the board eprom?
