i just installed my gm maft along with the UICP and a dejon tool blow thru intake. Installation went smoothly and when i took her out for a spin, i heard the turbo spooling, but my boost gauge showed barely anything while the factory one was over 14 psi. The car cant even acclerate past 40 MPH because all u hear is a loud almost hissing noise and then it hits fuel cut. I richened the base on the maft but that still didnt do anything. almost sounds like a HUGE boost leak. im gonna go do a boost leak test now, but can any one thing of anything else?? also, the turbo got hot as hell within like 2 mins of driving, while the engine was still cool.. thanks!!

i would just check to make sure that nothing came loose or that everything is connected where its suppose to... good luck tho...

well on a hunch, i disconnected the maf and it ran a lot better than.. i still hear that noise but not as loud, im doing the leak test tonight at my friends house. guessing i just need to tune it. problem is tho that the datalogger is still in the mail. my question is, what do i need to set the base settings.. richer or leaner??

so the base setting should be set at 2 and aux at 0 for 450's righT?? i got the car to drive a little better but the mid and WOT are backed off 3 turns.. does any of this sound normal??

Make sure you do not have any leaks of any kind. The turbo is quite a bit louder with the factory MAF sensor out of there, but the boost guage problem makes me think it is a leak for some reason.....

Just look in the guide that came with the MAFT and set it there for your base. Make sure you are not running too much boost for the initial tune. You really should wait for the logger so you can tune it right. MUCH easier that way. IF you want to make your life super easy as far as tuning goes, drop the $ on a PLX m300 wideband and you will be able to tune the car near perfect.
