I just test drove a 95 gst with around 120k miles. The car seems to runs pretty strong except for the turbo has a little bit of lag. Comparing from what i felt when i test drove the 99 gst, this car is much weaker. But for the price (3000 obo) it seems to be worth it. And i do not have much to spend. The major problem with it is that there is an oil leak in the turbo or gasket which leads to blue gas coming from the exaust. My friend said that i can use seafoam to help clean the system. The body is a little beat up and ghetto but all that matters to me is how the car runs because i plan to change the front,back,and sideskirts to a 97 and up. Ive been wanting a mr2 turbo but people around here overprice them way too much and have just decided to go with the eclipse. Please let me know what I should do! Thanks

Ryan

I say, go for the "go" before the "show" Do maintenance first before you spend money on anything else.

Also pulling a turbo off to replace a gasket isnt a huge job. Took me about 2 hours to change my turbo on my previous 1G.

Replacing the turbo just sounds like a lot of time and hassle and money. But if i wanted to just replace the turbine itself is that possible with all the stock piping? And how much would it cost for a cheap but better one than the T25?

You would be looking at alot more hassle to replace a turbine than the turbo itself.
Just snatch up a t28 or a 14b. A 14b will require an install kit so checkout www.vfaq.com under TURBOS section to read up on how to do it. (16g in a 2g part).

Or a t28 which is a direct drop in.

before you go shopping for a new turbo, i'd recommend doing all MAINTENANCE first. make sure the 120k service has been done [ belts, plugs/wires,pump, etc etc. ] then do an intake test to check for boost leaks. by then your car should feel stronger.

THEN i would go and replace the turbo, most likely it shit the bed. there are many alternatives like 98redgs said.

t25 = 100
14b + install kit = around 300
t28 = 700-900
b16g + install kit = 700-900

etc etc
