problem starting the car

Ok so heres my problem when i go start the car i hear a clicking sound and the car doesnt start right away it dont crank ,it will start after 30 sec or so sometimes sooner can anyone tell me what it could be please? thanks

so when you turn the key it only only clicks? or does it crank? if it only clicks make sure your battery is fully charged if it isnt jump start the car and check the voltage coming off the alternator before you buy a battery, it should be between 13-14 at idle if its lower than 12.5 i would replace it. if its good than charge your battery for an hour and check to see if it holds the charge if not than replace it.

now if its clicking when you turn the key but after multiple attempts its starts to crank then more than likely your starter is bad.

If it clicks, it is your starter solynoid. It is either on the fender wall close to the battery or on the starter itself. If it is on the starter, you have to replace the starter.
